Yeh Dooriyaan

Watched Love Aaj Kal yesterday... Like a million other Indians, I too was expecting a lot from the movie and was quite scared before watching it mainly because I didn't want to 'not like' the movie! But now that I've done seeing the movie, I do announce that I loved this crispy and refreshing movie!
Have plans of playing Mafia today - yes its been ages since I last played it. So I am really looking forward to it. Have a couple of other things lined up for today and tomorrow... Will write about it if I am able to accomplish it!
Coming back to the movie, in the movie hall, there was this group of friends (a group of boys and girls) who sat in the row just front of me. Those guys reminded me so much of my Pune days - those carefree, not-bothered-about-time days, fun-filled days! I miss you guys yaar!

Oh btw, I am so in mood to dance right now!

I need to rush to take a bath now! So I'll leave you guys here with the song from Love Aaj Kal - Dooriyan...

a new beginning

Its been almost a year since I last posted... Well, there's no excuse but I must say that I have been lazy. Besides, I have also been busy with some personal stuff as well as work. Some of the changes since my last post are:
1. I am almost a year older and definitely much much wiser
2. Moved from the UK back to India and then in a couple of months to Australia
3. Played multiple roles at workplace and definitely added to my profile
4. Expanded and renovated our bungalow in Alibaug
5. Am happier

Won't talk much about each of the above things except the last one - Am happier! I certainly am. Things have changed, although not particularly in the way that I would have liked but yes they have.
There is an aspiration in life and I am on the way to achieve it. I wouldn't say that I wasn't involved in achieving it earlier but now the determination is more than ever!
Starting to post here from today after a long long time! Here's to a new beginning... a new hope... a new glimmer and a new me!

Life is indeed like that!

danc-o-singistic!

Lately, I have been getting back to normal (when was I not!!!)... Have been feeling like dancing & singing all the time (yes, that really is me as 'normal'). Don't know why. But I guess whatever the reason, its good to be getting back to 'Life'...
My medicines have stopped and more than me, my friends are happy that I can now start drinking at parties... Well, it surely is getting funnier.
On a serious note, have a few things on my list to take care of and I have not been able to give them as much time. So need to do some serious thinking and planning there...
Yes, have been able to give time to photography and I am absolutely loving it. Discussed with a friend the other day and we have already planned for a project!!! You can check out the photostream at my flickr link. Make sure you leave your comments...

Ok, ok, listen... let me just dance a bit more and come back...

something...

After a late dinner, I was sat on my bed, reading a book. The playlist, with selected slow songs, was playing... and then it started. This song mesmerizes me. And then I am no more the me that I usually am.
Mind turns into blue sky, dreams open their feathers, smile blossoms and, I think, happiness lightly drizzles down... but still, a light breeze of sorrow flows.
I know I am somehow attached to this song.
Do you know why?

"Lag jaa gale, ke phir yeh haseen raat ho na ho...
Shayad phir is janam mein mulaaqaat ho na ho..."

Duur...

Distance - it makes such a big difference...
(flashback) Get up early in the morning and before anything else, put on the CD player to listen to the Strings album, specifically the song - Duur. (end flashback)
This song is one of the most special songs of my life. This was the song which I wanted to sing for my first ever singing auditions. I could not sing it because my friend sang it...
Then, while in Pune (2004), me and my friends had planned to see the Strings concert. I could see my wish of listening to Duur live coming true. Unfortunately I was very very unwell. But thanks to A and D, I heard the whole concert! Yes, the whole time the phone was on!!! A & D love you for that... And yes, thanks to S who agreed to stay back with me. It meant so so much. Thanks a lot. I really really miss you.

Spent the evening today listening to Duur. The light was dim and the mind was filled with memories... I travelled back and felt myself surrounded with my people.

Duur - Well, a lesson learnt. Sadly, it seems, at an expense.

...can we too learn a thing from this?

Being out of India means missing the 24-hour FM radio (yes 24-hour; its on even when i am sleepin). Thanks to City 101.6 Dubai for streaming online, people like me feel like still being in India.
I was listening to the station and heard this true story from Japan -
A Japanese man had to make amemdments to his living room and had to bring one of the house walls down. While doing so, he saw that in the hollow of the wall lied a lizard, alive and stuck there due to a nail between its leg and the wall. This man then realised that he had nailed the wall around 10 years back! The man was shocked and could not understand how on the damn earth did the lizard manage to stay alive without moving an inch through the 10 years. He kept watching the moves of the lizard and thats when he saw something which 'kinda' enlightened him... There was this another lizard which came to this 'stuck' lizard and fed her! And this had been happening for all the while that the lizard was stuck!

Well, they said that this is a true story... But even if it is a fable, there is something which we can learn from it. Isn't it?

Jaaneman

A serene Saturday evening - After a quick 15-min afternoon nap and a cup of ginger tea, I switched on the TV. And there it was playing...
I love that movie... Great picturization. Love the songs as well. The movie's really a nice & light-hearted one.
This post for the movie ending with this lovely song -
